In view of surface communication bottle-neck in the hilly state of Arunachal Pradesh, the Government of Arunachal Pradesh created Arunachal Helicopter Service, to facilitate movement of public, Govt officials and tourists from one place to the other and to the District Head- quarters/state capital.

The service is running successfully since inception.The government has initiated certain significant measures recently to promote helicopter services such as introduction of Pawan Hans helicopter service between Guwahati-Tawang sector six days a week from June 29, 2008.

The new revised helicopter schedule is effectlve from 01/09/2009.
